Terms of Use
Last updated: 3 October 2026
These terms are the rules, regulations, privacy policy and user agreement published under Rule 3(1)(a) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. By using the service you accept them.
1. The service
PATENT.Deals, operated by WIN Legal Advisors, a division of World of Willpower Private Limited (CIN: U86900PN2026PTC251855; GSTIN: 27AAECW3784C1Z7; Registered Office: A1/202, Samruddhi CHS, Kumbhare Park, Kothrud, Pune, Maharashtra, India 411038), produces automated, AI-assisted preliminary screenings of invention ideas against prior art the AI model is aware of. Reports are generated by software and artificial intelligence. They are informational, may be incomplete or wrong, and are not legal advice, not a patent search of any official register, not a patentability or freedom-to-operate opinion, and not an advocate-client or patent-agent engagement. No such relationship arises unless you separately engage an advocate or registered patent agent and that engagement is confirmed in writing.
2. No solicitation
In keeping with the Bar Council of India Rules, nothing on this site is an advertisement, solicitation or inducement to seek legal services. Requests for legal help are initiated by you of your own accord.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 to use the service.
4. What you may submit
You may submit only invention information that you own or are authorised to share. You are responsible for deciding whether disclosing an invention to the service, and to the processors named in our privacy policy, is consistent with your confidentiality and patent-filing strategy.
5. Prohibited conduct
You must not host, display, upload, publish or share information that:
- belongs to another person and to which you do not have any right;
- is obscene, paedophilic, invasive of privacy, racially or ethnically objectionable, or otherwise unlawful;
- harms a child;
- infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- deceives or misleads the recipient about the origin of the message, or is knowingly false;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order;
- contains software viruses or any code designed to interrupt, destroy or limit any computer resource.
These restrictions reflect Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules, 2021. We may refuse or stop processing content that breaches them, and will act on lawful orders within the timelines the Rules prescribe.
5A. Intermediary status and lawful orders
We publish these rules, a Grievance Officer and the removal timelines in Rule 3 of the IT Rules, 2021 as amended in 2026, so far as we act as an intermediary in respect of any third-party information a user causes to be stored or transmitted on the service. The reports we generate are our own output and are not third-party information. We will remove or disable access to unlawful content within 3 hours of a court order or a reasoned intimation from an authorised government officer, and furnish information lawfully sought by an authorised agency within 72 hours. The detailed timetable on our Grievance Officer page forms part of these terms.
6. Fees
Preliminary screening is currently provided free of charge. If paid services are introduced, their price, taxes and refund terms will be shown before you pay.
7. Intellectual property
We own the software, design and report templates. You keep all rights in your invention and in the information you submit, and you may use and share the reports generated for you freely with your advisers.
7A. Report content and claims
Patent references in a report are suggested by an AI model from its own knowledge unless the report says they were retrieved from a source. Every reference must be verified in an official register (Indian Patent Office, USPTO, EPO, WIPO) before you rely on it. The "AI screening indicator" is not a probability of patent grant. We do not claim that any invention is novel, patentable or clear to use. The full position is set out in our legal disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and without limiting any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, our aggregate liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher. We are not liable for decisions you take on filing, licensing, investment or enforcement, which remain your responsibility.
9. Grievances and disputes
Complaints go to Vrushali Thorat, Attorney and Solicitor, Grievance Officer at vrushali@winlegaladvisors.com; we acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 7 days. Consumers may also approach the appropriate consumer forum or the National Consumer Helpline (1915). These terms are governed by Indian law, and the courts at Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction, without prejudice to a consumer's statutory right to sue where they reside.
9A. Dispute resolution
If a dispute arises between you and us out of or in connection with the service, the parties will first make a good-faith attempt to resolve it through the grievance redressal process described in Section 9 above, within the acknowledgement and resolution timelines stated there.
If the dispute remains unresolved after that process, the parties may, where mutually agreed and legally applicable, seek to resolve it through mediation or Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), including online mediation. Any online mediation or ODR process may be conducted electronically, with the consent of the parties.
Where an arbitration agreement applies to a dispute, that dispute may be referred to arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 and applicable Indian law.
Nothing in this section removes, limits or excludes any mandatory statutory remedy, right, forum or jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be excluded, including a consumer's statutory right to approach the appropriate consumer forum or the National Consumer Helpline (1915).
