What a report is

A report is an automated, AI-assisted preliminary screening of the invention description you entered, at the date and time it was generated.

• It is information to help you act. It is not legal advice and not a legal opinion.
• It is not a search of the Indian Patent Office, USPTO, EPO, WIPO or any other official register, not a patentability opinion and not a freedom-to-operate opinion.
• It is not a guarantee that any patent office or court will agree with it.
• The "AI screening indicator" is a reading of the information available to the model, not a probability of patent grant. A high indicator does not make an invention patentable, and a low one does not make it unpatentable.
• Patentability turns on facts and documents the model may not know. Take advice from a registered patent agent or advocate before filing, licensing or investing.

How we use artificial intelligence

The summary, comparable references, Patent Gap analysis and suggested amendments in a report are produced by a large language model reading your disclosure, guided by our own instructions.

• Patent references are suggested from the model's own knowledge unless the report says they were retrieved. The model is told never to invent a publication number, but AI can be wrong. Verify every reference in an official register.
• The model has not read the full text or claims of the references it names; "disclosed", "partial" and "not identified" are relative only to the references listed.
• No advocate has read your report unless you separately engage one.
• The model provider processes your disclosure as our processor. We do not permit your content to be used to train models.

AI and synthetic media rules

India has no enacted AI Act. What binds a website today is the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Amendment Rules, 2026, notified by G.S.R. 120(E) dated 10 February 2026 and in force from 20 February 2026. Those rules impose labelling, provenance metadata and shortened grievance timelines on services that create, alter, publish or share synthetically generated information. PATENT.Deals produces text only and offers no facility to create or alter images, audio or video; text-only AI output is outside the definition of synthetically generated information.

MeitY AI governance guidelines

The India AI Governance Guidelines published on 5 November 2025, and the MeitY advisory to intermediaries on AI models of 15 March 2024 as revised, are guidance and advisories. They are not rules and carry no penalty of their own. We follow them as good practice: AI output on this site is labelled as AI-assisted and its limits are stated beside it.
